Workshops

The right timing for the right moment

Instructor: Dennis-Marius Thieme

A quick blow to the opponent is possible without losing your own cover, as every attack harbours the risk of a counter-attack. In addition to distance, the magic word is tempo.

The aim is to gain an understanding of the physical movements involved in fencing. The interplay of all parts of the body, as well as the blade, ensures a fast strike tempo and allows the actions of the opponent to be better anticipated. In order to be able to apply this in the fight, the tactical level must also be illuminated.

When is the right moment for a single action attack or do you need to prepare your attack in any way before?

Weapon: Sidesword
